Katherine Feeney you do not have my number

In her recent article on Porn for Women Feeney gives the following advice:

“…to women looking to add a new dimension to their sex relives, I say try sexy literature, music, poetry, art, food, not porn. Tap material that is sexy not because of it is graphic and extreme, but because it’s provocative and beautiful.”

So, I have a couple of points for you, Katherine:

• Women can be porn addicts too.
• Not all women have XX chromosomes.
• Hardcore porn ≠ “rapey banging”.
• Some women enjoy being choked, and I am one of them.
• You may find subtly ”classy” and “more appealing in general” but you do not speak for me, nor many women I know, nor do you throw around lack of ‘class’ as an insult. This isn’t Victorian England. 
• You’re right, restraint is seductive. But not in the way you’re thinking.
• What is “provocative and beautiful” is different for everyone.
• And Katherine, next time you consider making a comment like “Enjoy content that sees sex as a fun, pleasurable, powerful and passionate connection, not some slap, whack and squirt. Not because it’s fem-friendly, but because it’s just a little bit more civilised.”  I suggest you take your classist, racist, colonial adjective and shove it up your judgmental preachy ass. Every woman gets to decide what is ‘fem-friendly’ or powerful for her, and for many women that includes slapping, whacking and squirting. Just because you mention James Deen and hark to some mainstream discourse around porn does not mean you are doing anything interesting or new. What you are doing, however, is further perpetrating the judgement and alienation of alternative sexual preferences. And for that you can go fuck yourself. I bet it will be boring.
